Construction Cost Control
PROJECT REVIEW AND EVALUATION SERVICES
Hammerhead Construction Cost Control offers a condensed project review and
evaluation service. This is an in depth, on site, review of an ongoing
project, and covers the overall execution plan including the commercial
aspects, project controls, cost and schedule forecasts, actual and
potential claims and backcharges, safety and quality aspects of the
project. It is designed for projects at any time during the project sequence.
Our review and evaluation techniques can be applied to a project at the
very beginning of the development of a project to include a
constructability analysis, risk analysis and contingency evaluation and can
be applied to a project after it has been completed for a "Lessons Learned"
study to help future projects or to prepare for any claims and backcharge
battles or possible litigation.
A typical project review takes approximately one week, and includes a
written report citing areas which may warrant attention to mitigate any
potential cost and schedule exposures associated with the subject project
and strategies to stave off potential claims as well as to identify areas
of potential backcharges to contractors and consultants involved with the
project.
The evaluation and review is a good way to get a "snapshot" of where the
project stands without retaining the services of a full-time consulting
construction manager. Should the client identify a need for additional
resources or services upon completion of the review, Hammerhead
Construction Cost Control will work with your organization to fill the needs.
The Review Includes:
1. A review of the project Execution Plan
2. A review of the contract documents and identification of potential
commercial pitfalls.
3. An assessment of the project controls procedures including an emphasis
on invoice auditing.
4. An assessment of the evaluation of the progress of the project, on an
earned value basis.
5. A review of the current project cost report including the forecasted
cost to complete.
6. A review of the project correspondence and documentation to identify
potential claims and backcharges and cost and schedule issues.
7. A review of the project schedule, including identification of the
critical path and critical activities which may be in danger of delaying
the completion of the project.
8. Comments on quality and safety as applicable to the scope of the project.
9. Recommendations going forward based upon our analysis.
10. Evaluation of the staffing plan for the project
